Concept
Treatment and script
An idea, a tone and a look agreed on paper before a single day is booked.
Commercials & brand films
Scripted ads and hero brand films, multi-location and properly directed — with the craft of a drama set and the budget discipline of a lean crew.
Overview
A commercial has to do in thirty or sixty seconds what most corporate videos do in three minutes: create a feeling, make a promise and leave a memory of the brand. That takes writing, casting, performance and rhythm — the craft of drama direction compressed into a short piece. It is the kind of work Francis has been doing for more than 30 years, from TCS/Mediacorp drama to regional productions across Southeast Asia.
Commercial video production in Singapore is often split across an agency, a production house and a separate editor, each adding their margin. Working directly with a director who writes, shoots and oversees the edit keeps the idea intact from the first treatment to the final grade, and keeps the cost where it shows on screen.
Every commercial project begins with a treatment: a short document setting out the idea, the tone, the look and how the story unfolds. Once agreed, it becomes a script and shot list, with locations and talent planned around it. On the day, the shoot runs like a small film set — a director, a lean crew sized to the scenes, and time spent where the performance happens. In post, the film is cut for rhythm, graded for mood and mixed for sound, with one round of changes included.
The Brand Film package starts at S$8,000: multi-location, small crew, scripted and directed — a hero film built to carry the brand. Larger productions are quoted from the same transparent rate card: S$2,800 per full shoot day, S$600 per additional crew member per day, and S$900 per edit day. You will see where every dollar goes before anything is booked.
A hero film is expensive to make and cheap to repurpose. Shoots are planned to cover 16:9 for YouTube and websites, 9:16 for TikTok and Reels, and 1:1 for feeds — plus shorter cutdowns of the main spot for paid media. That way a single production keeps working across a campaign rather than living on one page of your site.
Many Singapore brands sell to more than one community. Francis directs talent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien, so a Chinese-language version of a spot can be performed and directed properly rather than dubbed as an afterthought.
